What are my choices of cakes, fillings, and icings?

We offer a wide variety of combinations.  Refer to the Cake Ordering Information Tab for a complete listing.

How far in advance should I place an order for a cake or other baked goods?

Some specialty products require more time than others.  We suggest that you place cake and bakery orders at least 2-3 days in advance, but often we can accomodate cake orders when placed the day before pick-up.  However, for a tier cake we ask for at least one week notice, or more depending on the complexity of the design.  Also, specialty bakery items may require more time because they may be seasonal.

 

Can I change or cancel my order once it is placed?

Yes.  Any changes or cancellations must be made at least 48 hours prior to your date of pick-up.

Can I place an order through e-mail?

Yes.  You may e-mail our store at pabakery1713@yahoo.com.  However, it is best to speak to us directly over the phone or in our store because e-mail is not the most efficient way of communicating with our staff.  If you do send us an e-mail, the order must be confirmed with an e-mail response from our bakery.  The quickest way to ask questions or place an order is to call or visit our bakery.

 

Do you ship any of your bakery products?

Yes.  Non-perishable items such as cookies, pastries, pies, and breads ship the best.  To make sure products are fresh, we require shipping to be overnight or next day air.  An additional shipping cost will be added to the price of the products.

 

 

Wedding Cake FAQ's

Can I taste various cake combinations before placing my wedding cake order?

Yes, we offer a complimentary wedding cake tasting at your scheduled wedding cake consultation.

 

May I come in for a cake tasting without an appointment?

No.  In order to allow us to be adequately prepared for your consultation, an appointment must be scheduled prior to your tasting to allow us to prepare the specific cakes, fillings, and icings, as well as have a wedding cake specialist available for you.

 

What should I bring to my wedding cake consultation?

Please bring any ideas, colors, themes, photos, invitations, color swatches, photo of wedding dress, and number of expected guests.  Anything that you would like to incorporate onto the design of your wedding cake will be helpful to have present at the consultation.  We also will need to know the wedding date, location, and time of delivery.  We are here to help you make your special day a success and a beautiful memory!

 

Can you decorate my wedding cake in any color?

Yes.  If you provide a swatch we can match your color as close as possible.

Is a deposit needed when placing a wedding cake or specialty cake order?

Yes.  To hold your wedding cake order for your pick-up date, a 50% deposit is required before the cake can be processed.  Check, cash, debit cards, and all major credit cards are accepted.

When does the wedding cake have to be paid in full?

Payments for wedding cakes must be paid in full 2-3 weeks prior to the wedding date.

 

What are the shapes of the tier cakes you offer?

We offer round, square, and heart-shaped cakes.  If you have other ideas of shapes please discuss them with us at your consultation and we will do our best to accomodate.

 

Can you do any type of cake decoration?

We have a wide variety of cake designs you may choose from.  We can also do any type of cake decoration if you provide a clear image that we can work from.  We desire to customize your cake exactly the way you want it.

Besides a standard bride & groom ornament, what are other decorations that can be used on the cake?

We can add bridesmaids & groomsmen to the cake of any color.  We can also substitute ornaments with clusters of fresh flowers or fresh fruit anywhere on the cake. 

Does the Pennsylvania Bakery provide fresh flowers?

We do not offer fresh flowers.  Your personal florist must prepare the flowers and they must be delivered to the bakery the night before or the morning of the event.

How are the cakes transported?

Cakes are transported by a refrigerated van/truck depending on the location of the delivery.  If necessary, the cakes are assembled at the venue.

 

How far can a cake be delivered?

We will deliver anywhere within reason, and the delivery charge will be based upon the traveling distance.  Please consult the wedding cake specialist regarding the delivery charge.
